Five Pieces of Music To Be Thankful For
- Candide by Leonard Bernstein-The funniest thing I’ve ever encountered and one of my favorite pieces of music.
- Quadrophenia by The Who-One of the four great rock operas.
- Bill Evans Live at the Village Vanguard-Bill Evans, Scott LaFaro, and Paul Motian (died recently, RIP).
- Rock of Ages by The Band-People who haven’t heard this think that the Allman Bros. at the Fillmore is the best live rock album of all time.
- Eroica by Beethoven-If you have a question about music, the answer is somewhere in this piece. I recommend the ’66 Bernstein/NYPhil version.
